thanks guys.
this is my tropical 34 gallon set up. its been going since september and it looks different now to the pic above already.
most of the plants are real and i havent had any problems with them.
in the middle is my amazon sword and behind that vallis and to the right limnophila sessiflora, which is very soft for the fish and they love playing in it.
and theres some java fern on bogwood.
i would like to thank everyone for voting for my tank, and would like to say all the other tanks were lovely too.

OK, about my tank. Me and Dad both set it up together. It is A Jewel Rio 125, approx 30 gal, I dont know about the filter, it came inside the tank. It has two lights in the hood.
I got a massive bag of gravel (£20) at the back of the tank it's 3 inches and at the front 1 inch.
We have 2 Roman ruins, one is a square shape and the other is round with a air stone in it. I have 9 different plants in it, some are plastic some are silk, they are different colour Greens, Reds and Green and Whites.
I have 1 Grass bed, at the back near the middle of the tank, with River rock running all round it down to the front of the tank, and some river rocks at one side.
I have 3 Common goldfish, Goldie, Bert and Dave, (Goldie is all Gold, Bert is Yellow and Black (He's losing his black a bit ) and Dave is White and Orange.) And I have a Black Background.
We were trying to make a tank that looked natural with a relaxed but old atmosphere, but we also wanted the fish to enjoy it and they can swim through the pillars and play in the bubbles. (The non-bubble ruin, Bert and Dave love it.)

This tank is home to four fancy goldfish, Elf, a chocolate pom pom, Shasta, an orange lionhead, Marigold, an orange/white telescope and Casey, a calico bubble eye. Other tankmates include a shoal of seven white cloud mountain minnows, an ancistrus (bristlenose), an otocinclus plus several ramshorn snails. It is a 66 gallon tank, measuring 48" long, 16" wide and 20" tall. I started this tank in April, 2003. It was heavily planted from the start with hygrophila polysperma, vallisneria, rotala indica, cryptocorne wendtii, echinodorus (Amazon sword), microsorium (Java fern), nymphaea (water lily) and vesicularia dubyana (Java moss). I add Flourish Excel (as a carbon supplement), plus a homemade fertilizer daily. The lighting is from four 4 foot, fluorescent tubes.
I want to thank everyone who voted for this tank, and I would like to compliment the other contestants on their beautiful tanks.

Thanks everyone! This is my newest tank. It's a small 10g tank with a basic set up. I have an AquaClear 150 running and a small bubble wall placed off centre. A few real plants (sorry I don't know the names) that are placed along the back of the tank and a couple up front. I added a plastic red and green plant to add a touch of colour.
Housed in the tank are a red capped oranda and 2 small panda oranda's.
I spent a long time collecting the perfect rocks for the aquascaping. I placed all the stones basically to balance the tank and put a small bubble wall in between 2 of them to create an awesome effect.
Picking the blue gravel was a hard decision for me as I'm a stickler for details at times. I chose the blue to match the upper part of the background image on the tank. There's a beautiful tint of blue in the background. The balance of the other colours work wonders together. It's amazing how much blue stone lights up when the light is on... and It looks so awesome when all the house lights are off and the tank is running. I highly recommend the blue gravel. It was a pleasant surprize when I was complete.... I was so pleased with the outcome, and even more now that I've won Tank of the Month. Thank you!

Thanks guys! This goldfish tank looks very small because of the fish but is a 29g aquarium. I got the tank on March 2003 as an upgrade to a 10g but the fish have been with me since March 2001. Here are the basics:
Filtration: 3 Aquaclear 150 power filters with three sponges each. Two powerfilters are connected to the towers of an UGF, the third one is the hospital tank filter which is always running and ready in case of emergency.
Aeration: Rena 300 airpump with airstone connected to a third tower of the UGF.
Lighting: Power-glo and Aqua-glo fluorescent tubes operating 12 hours per day.
Substrate: gravel
Plants: Java fern, anacharis, hygrophylla, and moneywort
Goldfish: 8-inch Female moor, 8-inch red telescope, 7-inch redcap oranda (all measures head to tail).
Algae eaters: 5 otocynclus catfish, 2 Siamese algae eaters, 4 Amano shrimp

Oh wow I finally got an award! This is my daughter’s 10 gallon tank. At the time of the picture I think it had Gothica and Ozzie in it - 2 little feeders she rescued. Now they have moved to the 30 gallon whiskey barrel outside and I have two new feeders - Angel and Sherbet. When they get bigger they will go to the 30 gallon and the other two will go to the pond. Its set up is simple - it's the starter tank from Wal-Mart. It also serves as my quarantine and hospital tank.

There are five fish in the tank, Barnaby, The General, Draco, Coppertop, and Norbert, all Orandas, and one golfball size apple snail, Uncle Fester. There are two HOB filters on the tank, a wisper filter, and a penguin Bio-wheel. At the time the picture was taken I also had a UGF in the tank but have since taken that out. The tank is a twenty gallon,... I think I just heard you all gasp , but don't worry the fish have gotten big enough and I am getting a 75 gallon within the next two weeks.
I enjoy watching the shows on the romans on the History Channel so I went with the roman theme in the tank, I got them at Petsmart.
Thanks again,
Bigjk

once every other week for a few hours. I use a Rena 400 air pump which powers
two 6" Rena Micro-Bubbler airstones. I also have a Carbo Plus unit that
delivers plenty of CO2 to 15 different kinds of live plants inside the tank.
The tank is home to one red fantail, one red cap fantail, one black moore, one
red and white telescope buttery, three red and white ryukins, one red and white
crowned pearlscale, two tri-colored ranchu, one hi-fin banded shark, a few

This tank is my 36 gal tank.
It houses 3 goldfish, a dojo, and a rubbernose Pelco.
As you can see it is a very heavly planted tank with Wisteria, lilly bulbs and some Java moss.
The tank gets a 35% water change every week, with Florish Excell and it also has a Hagen plant_go natural C02 sytem on it too. The filtration in this tank is a Eheim 2026 Pro and a Penguin 170 bio wheel filter. Also on this tank is a UV sterilizer.
