The guy who owns the store is very knowledgeable and helpful.

Hoffers Tropic Life Review:
This store is incredible. Hundreds of tanks, almost every one has live plants in it (where appropriate). Freshwater, brackish and marine, and the biggest kicker is the staff knows what they are talking about. They have display tanks set up with full grown goldies, larger arrowanas and pacu's and other such fish, to show people just how big they can get. I've seen them flat out refuse to sell a certian type of fish if they feel it won't go well in the existing setup, but they do it politely and explain why and what the buyer's options are. This place is just great, and a definate place to stop if you are in the Milwaukee area. Another Milwaukee store with great reviews is Aquatics Unlimited. Personally, I haven't managed to get there yet, but heard it is great. "Myaj "
Review:
This is an awesome store! They have beautiful outdoor ponds with imported Koi. They also have many indoor displays with waterfalls and reef systems. They also have live displays of giant tortoises and alligators, almost like a zoo! They have beautiful fish tanks and quality specimens. They have many goldfish to choose from with just about every breed but they are very expensive. They also offer classes on fish keeping. Expert staff can help with any problem. I have often called them when I have had trouble as a beginner and they have always helped me. They offer info on their website as well.

This one has been recommended by Ingrid from the Puregold list - very clean store, well kept fish tanks and other animal enclosures... "Ranchugirl "

This is an awesome store. They sell fish and supplies only. Huge place with many show tanks. They have salt water and fresh water fish and ponds. Expert, knowledgable staff that know everything about fish. Hundreds of tanks of fish and reasonable prices. Equipment is pricey though. "Harpazo"

Review:
This is, in my opinion, THE best fish store in Madison. What it lacks in quantity, it more than makes up for in amazing quality. The staff are friendly, helpful, and most importantly, fish lovers. They know their stuff! They do special orders also. When you walk in, you know that store is all about the fish - the temperature and humidity in there is almost unbearable! Not for the customers, that's for sure! smile.gif They have all the usual suspects, but also some very rare stuff. A great find. "imtammyo"
