Test Kit Tip

Posted by: Tamianth Dec 5 2004, 11:26 PM

I got tired of carrying all those test kit boxes back and forth between the pond and Aquarium when I needed to do my tests. Rather then buy one of the expensive kits to get a box, I built one myself.

I bought a empty cigar box with a latch and hinges, though you can get wood boxe's also at the craft store, a blank wire purse handle and some beads with holes big enough to go over the wire. You can get handles already beaded too.

I put stickers on it that look like koi, though I chose to keep the old Schooner pics on it. It holds all my tests (a laborette plus indviduals), the vials and the paper work and is very space saving to boot!

The overall cost was 6.00 for the box, 1.99 for the handle and around 3.00 in glass beads.

Nice box, Kathy. When is mine ready? I ordered it months ago.

LOL Captk.

It sure has been nice to have, takes up little room in the cabinet, which also houses all my pond stuff as well as aquarium. Everything I get is gallon jugs and those take a lot of room. <

I think I'm going to get some marine varnish to varnish it over with, will help waterproof the wood, hold the stickers on.
